About Us

Who are we?

Hi! I’m Keri and together with my husband, Matt, we grow and supply native plants for farms and lifestyle blocks.

We started our new venture in 2019 and now grow 25,000 plants per year. We value quality over quantity and we aim to provide hardy plants that our customers can trust.

What began as a means to provide for our family has grown into a passion. We are passionate about planting native plants on marginal, erosion-prone land and planting riparian strips to protect our fresh water. We are dedicated to protecting our native bush and its array of native wildlife. We believe in giving back to the native forests that provide for us and are passionate about pest control and protecting biodiversity.

Where are we?

Ngaroma is located in the heart of the North Island with the majestic Pureora Forest on its back doorstep. We like to think that we are in the middle of everywhere with Hamilton, Taupo and Rotorua just over an hours drive away. Situated at 400m above sea level, Ngaroma Natives provides an ideal location for producing wind and cold-hardy plants.

Where to from here?

We know the nursery industry creates a huge amount of plastic waste. Coming from a sheep farming background, we are excited to see some new products being trialled utilising New Zealand Wool that can withstand nursery conditions. As we continue on our nursery journey, we hope to find a sustainable and affordable option to put our plants in. Watch this space!

Our vision

To be a trusted supplier of native plants in the Waikato region recognised for our authenticity, affordability and quality.
